This project was about designing and building a model of a house that could survive a specific disaster at a specific location, such as insane earthquakes at the Solomon Islands followed by floods. My team chose the previously stated example as our location and disaster. We ended up building a two story house that had long poles that dug deep into the ground used in conjunction with LRB(Lead Rubber Bearings). The poles ran all the way up the walls of the housed up the the roof so the vibrations are spread throughout an equivalent height of 5 stories when placed in the ground. When we tested our house it passed with flying colors, not moving whatsoever inside of it's box of fake ground. This was probably the best project I did in this class(or any of them) all year because it took the most time, the most effort, and involved that one guy who does no effort whatsoever being no help.
